Why Is The God Of The Old Testament…
… vengeful and murderous, when the God of the New Testament is all about love and forgiveness?
You have to admit, that’s a pretty huge about-face in terms of character.
And if this God can apparently change so dramatically, at what point did he (or she or it) stop being fallible and become infallible? Surely an omnipotent, omniscient entity would have known from the word go that murder and revenge were not right, so why did it take him all those centuries to realise it?
Does that mean God is actually schizophrenic, and that he could turn back to his old self at any moment?
If the Bible as a whole is meant to represent any type of truth at all, how come so many people described such diametrically-opposed qualities in this super-being?
And while we’re at it, who did God go to for Confession when he decided to turn over a new leaf and be nice guy instead?
So many questions, and so few satisfactory answers! If you have any (either more questions or good answers), please feel free to leave a comment below.
